Tests show time and again that the Brooks Adrenaline 14 is among users’ favorite running shoes. The shoe is best on harder surfaces like asphalt and gravel, as the sole has no additional structure.

Since the Adrenaline GTS 13 is Brooks’ best-selling shoe, it comes in several color combinations. I know that “color doesn’t matter”. It does for me, and it does for many other runners. I agree that it’s the technical aspects of the shoe that are most important. That being said, who wouldn’t rather have a pair of shiny shoes than a pair of ugly gray clogs?

I have tested the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14 and I must say that it is definitely to my taste and meets the requirements I have as a marathon and ultra runner. I run between 40-80 km a week, either LSD, trail or interval, and here the Adrenaline contributes with effective shock absorption, which however needed a few runs to get used to. I am quite picky when it comes to a mass training shoe, as I often struggle with blisters and pinched toes, but the Adrenaline has a good ability to adapt to the shape of my foot.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS – all-round for pronated runners

Despite the constant buzz around minimalist running shoes, a traditional running shoe like the Adrenaline is selling better than ever. You know what you’re getting. This is Brooks’ best-selling running shoe – a classic stability running shoe that gives overpronators the support they need.

The 13th edition of the shoe comes with a progressive midsole that corrects your pronation. In practical terms, the pronation wedge makes your foot “roll” completely neutrally and not fall inward, which is typical for us pronated runners. They themselves say that the shoe is a solid running shoe for daily training for runners who overpronate. Spot on!
You can never go wrong with Brooks Adrenaline. It’s an old classic of a running shoe, bought again and again by the same and new runners. If you’re after some of the world’s best cushioning, then the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 is an option you should consider.

A little (nerdy) technology knowledge about the shoe

Brooks Adrenaline 13 comes with Anatomical DNA cushioning. It is a system of cushioning that you don’t say other brands excel with. At Asics they have GEL, at Adidas they have Formotion, etc. This anatomical system adapts to your weight, stride length and speed. In other words, your load. If you expose your body to a lot of load, the shock absorption will work better.

On the technological side, the Brooks Adrenaline also has Profile Sockliner and Profile Elements in the upper. This technology gives you the good durability that they are known for. At the same time, it also includes good ventilation options.

Last but not least, I want to briefly touch on the Biomogo midsole. Bio comes from the fact that the material is 100% biodegradable. There is therefore no “waste” in this product. It is a trend that I clearly see in the running industry. We are starting to care more about sustainability. Brooks is fully on board with this wave – especially with the Brooks Adrenaline 13 in the GTS series.
