Running shoe sale – your personal guide to great savings

Running shoes are expensive. Fortunately, it is usually possible to find running shoes on sale when you shop online. This applies all year round, and it’s stupid to pay full price.

I don’t think I’ve yet come across running shoes that I couldn’t buy cheaper on sale, either at a Danish or foreign running store. It’s therefore always worth researching the market before buying running shoes.

Guide to buying running shoes on sale

If you are stuck and missing a pair of new cheap running shoes,you should consider buying them on sale. Danish and foreign running stores typically hold sales in January and August. This is during the main season and typically these are the times when new models are released.

Buy the old version

The update to the new shoes is typically not very significant, which is why you can often make do with the “old” version of the shoe. Most running companies make updates to their running shoe models annually, but there is almost never any difference between a slightly older and a brand new model. The design has of course been updated, but the technical aspects of the shoe itself are pretty much identical. And unless you are an extreme running nerd, I would like to guarantee that you will not notice any difference.

Why sales are better online

Many online running stores have a huge inventory, which is why they send out a lot of their shoes. It happens that too much is bought, which is why they have to get rid of all their goods before a new collection comes out. This is not different from physical running stores. The difference is that a physical running store is typically significantly smaller in terms of turnover than an online running store, which is why there will also be a price difference. Therefore, the best advice is to always buy your running shoes on sale online – that’s where you save the most.

Security at online running stores

If you are unsure whether it is safe to buy running shoes online, then you should definitely not worry. I have bought a lot of running shoes online and I have never had a bad experience. It has never been a problem to manage any returns and if I have needed advice or asked any questions I have received a quick answer.

Online running stores in Denmark

As an alternative to physical stores, there are many online running stores in Denmark. I typically refer to the same running stores, which are Runforest and Loebeshop, where you will always find good prices and get good customer service. When you buy online, however, there is honestly not much difference between buying in a Danish or a foreign webshop.

Foreign online running stores

There are many different running stores abroad. I typically shop in running stores in Germany or shops in England. They are based in a larger market and therefore often have a more aggressive pricing policy compared to Danish running stores. This is also why prices are on average lower abroad.

By researching the market and buying running shoes on sale, you can average save 38% in foreign running stores and 22% in Danish running stores. My figures are based on a huge study where I compared 1200 prices on running shoes. It clearly shows that you can save a lot of money by being aware of where you buy your running shoes and researching the market for the cheapest price.
