The history of American Garmin
A brand that started back in 1989. A brand that has been around many different activities, but in Denmark is probably best known for their car navigation and their heart rate and activity watches. Garmin today has offices all over the world, and has become world-renowned for its approach to GPS-based components. In their relatively short life, they have also been through less fortunate activities, such as manufacturing mobile phones, etc.
They have an ambition to be the market leader in the field they operate in. And one must say that they have succeeded, at least if we look at the Danish market. And mainly looking at the 2 areas that are interesting to us, which are called sports and outdoor. Garmin also operates in industries such as cars, marine, aviation.
When Garmin introduced the first GPS watches in the sports industry, there were both people who laughed and people who looked a little askance. Because back then, the watches weren’t quite as elegant as they are today. There were the “bigger blocks” that you had to strap on your arm and run with. But it must be said that the brand in Denmark has taken revenge. They are now the market leader in GPS heart rate watches and outdoor watches in Denmark, and there must be some competitors with worried faces.

Series in Garmin sports and outdoor watches
You, like many others, may have gotten a little lost in the overview of the many different heart rate and GPS watches available from Garmin. But it’s actually not that difficult to understand, because Garmin divides them into different series, and then there are sub-categories within each series. But if you can understand the main categories (series) then you’re really well on your way. And below we have tried to briefly outline what each series stands for.
Garmin quickly realized that not many runners are the same or think the same. And based on that thesis, they have developed the different series and watches.
Garmin Vivo series
The Vivo series from Garmin is the series that is aimed at him or her who wants to train smarter. Vivo watches are made with a smart design and lots of training, wellness and everyday features.
Garmin Forerunner series
The best-selling series in Denmark. For several reasons. Both because of a lower average price tag, but also because the products cover the needs of the vast majority. The Forerunner series is primarily reserved and developed for runners. But the series also contains watches for both the data nerd, the equipment nerd or the ordinary exercise runner who just wants some simple data on his runs.
Garmin Fenix series
Probably the series that must be considered the top series from Garmin in terms of running and outdoor. This is where you will find the most advanced features and the best robustness in the products. This is the series you can look for if you are an ultra runner, outdoor enthusiast or just a regular equipment nerd. Remember that the Garmin Fenix watches are not the smallest watches.
Garmin Instinct series
The Instinct series is primarily for those who want a combination of Forerunner and Fenix. The series is a robust series, and if you have to choose between sports and outdoor, it is certainly an outdoor series more than a sports series.
Garmin Edge series
The Garmin bike series. So it doesn’t have much to do with running and outdoor activities, but it has to be included anyway because it kind of falls under the sports segment.
Garmin heart rate monitors on sale and special offers!
We will do our best to help you find the best prices on Garmin heart rate monitors and outdoor watches. Garmin spans a wide price range. Because you can buy heart rate monitors and activity trackers from as low as 400,- and up to 7000,- It all depends on how much you want your watch to be able to do. Every now and then Garmin (fortunately) tends to make models that they make extra good prices on. And it’s not because the watches are worse or anything, but from our perspective, it’s more because they want to keep their market share.
Buy Garmin heart rate monitors abroad
You also have the option of buying your heart rate monitor abroad. For example, if you buy your Garmin heart rate monitor in Germany, you may be able to find it a lot cheaper. Due to lower German VAT and increased competition in a larger market, it is not unlikely that you can find your new Garmin watch cheaper abroad.
Personally in love with Garmin
Personally, I am a huge fan of Garmin. And I am for some very simple reasons. They make products that are robust and that last. They think innovatively and new all the time. And I like high ambitions. And Garmin has that. They want to be the market leader in their individual fields. And it is my clear assessment that they are, at least when it comes to heart rate and outdoor watches.

Garmin Pay – their own payment system
Garmin has developed their own wireless and secure payment system. A payment system you always have at hand. Now you no longer have to rely on remembering your payment cards or your cash. If you have the option to connect Garmin Pay via your device and your bank, you always have payment methods in close proximity.
Not all Danish banks support the function, but you can see herewhich Danish banks support Garmin Pay
Garmin Pay is a unique and perfect system that is built into your Garmin watch (primarily in newer models of Garmin watches). And it’s actually as simple as holding the watch up to the payment machine. Just like you know from your contactless payment cards. It’s a very flexible solution, and you always have money on hand. Perfect for the runner who wants to buy breakfast on the way home, or for the cyclist who just wants to taste the local cinnamon bun.
It’s all set up via Garmin Wallet, and it’s done in small and very simple steps. Anyone can join.
