Nike Structure 22 – What can you expect from this version?

Structure from Nike is a running shoe that we in Denmark, or all runners worldwide, have been able to enjoy for many years. Just look at the version numbers. We are now going from Structure 21 to Nike Structure 22. And what does the fantastic running shoe from Nike have to offer this time?

It’s not like you can expect a huge revolutionary change in this number 22 version of the Nike Structure. However, there have been a few optimizations in many things in the shoe. This update has been aimed at improving the overall impression of the shoe, and thereby giving its countless fans an even better running shoe with a total experience..
Nike Structure 22 is a running shoe with, among other things, a completely seamless and extremely sweat-wicking upper that ensures you have the absolute best fit, and gives your feet a unique opportunity to breathe and thereby maintain a high level of comfort inside the shoe.

The fantastic Zoom Air cushions that make the shoe so wonderfully soft to run in are laced anatomically correctly into the sole, so that you get the best shock absorption right where you need it.

The shoe is of course still for the pronating runner. Your foot is supported on the inside by Nike Dynamic Support. Nike Dynamic Support is the perfect way to maintain your pronation, instead of slowing it down with a hard wedge. This method is much more flexible.
The Flywire cables in the shoe from the lacing system down to the sole allow the user to get just the right support and a unique fit around the foot.

So if you were waiting for the big and very revolutionary upgrade of Nike Structure in the 22nd version, we (Nike) unfortunately have to disappoint you. It ended up being an upgrade of many small parameters to improve the overall impression.
If you turn it around, you can easily understand this disposition. Nike Structure is a running shoe that works as it is, so why make major changes to it.

Nike Structure 22 is available in several versions

This Nike Structure 22 was released towards the fall of 2018. And therefore, almost according to tradition, a “winter model” of the shoe has also been made. There is also one for the Nike Structure 22. It is called the Nike Structure 22 Shield. This is the Shield upper that is built more for the harsher and colder weather. We have now reached the 21st edition of the Nike Air Zoom Structure. It will of course replace the Nike Structure 20, which is a running shoe that has been very well received on the Danish market. So a somewhat heavy legacy must be lifted by the new Structure 21 from Nike.

But there has certainly been a lot of progress in the Nike Air Structure 21 compared to the 20th edition of the same running shoe. Some really cool features have been added to improve the experience of running in the Structure for the runner. The Structure has always been a sublime and solid running shoe for the pronating runner, and so far it still is. It has just become a little smoother and lighter.

The upper has been optimized AND made lighter

The upper of the Structure 21 has become noticeably different. Not only has it become a different material, but the material in the Structure 21’s upper has also become smoother and lighter. The previous Flymesh material has been replaced with Warp-knit material, and this alone results in a significant reduction in weight. This gives you a faster running shoe that will also not weigh you down as much on longer runs..
And in combination with the Air Zoom cushioning that is in the foot of the running shoe, you get the perfect combination of sublime softness, stability and then speed/quick take-off. Truly an improvement that you as a runner will be able to feel.

The outsole has been given more grip on the surface.

Actually also an improvement in Nike Structure 21 compared to the 20 which you will probably notice in the running and take-off. But probably not nearly as much as the reduced weight. But an improved outsole in Duralon material means that you get both a better grip, but probably even more important, a better take-off from the surface.

But otherwise, the Nike Air Zoom Structure is still the running shoe for him or her who is looking for a running shoe with super comfort, a 10mm drop and of course a pronation wedge to support your pronation. It still has a really soft and supportive Dynamic Support midsole, and the perfect Flywire system from Nike which provides optimal support and the perfect hold in your upper on the running shoe.

What was new in the Nike Zoom Structure 20

The Nike Zoom Structure is becoming a bit of an old horse in Nike’s stable. But that’s only because it’s a fantastic running shoe that many Danes (and other nationalities) love to run in.

Nike Structure 19 has now been replaced by the new Nike Zoom Structure 20. And in this connection, there have of course been some updates to the shoe. Even this running shoe is extremely popular, so runners always have more and more demands, or maybe their running habits change, and Nike, among others, is really good at picking up on this and updating their new running shoes accordingly.

Improved support for your foot:
There is a lot of work to do to give Structure 20 better support throughout the shoe’s entire movement. So that from heel landing to take-off, you get really good help from the Dynamic Support that is built into Nike Structure 20. Here you will really be able to feel an improvement.

A broader perspective on the entire running shoe:
Another feature that is designed to provide a more stable running shoe with better support is that the shoe has generally been given a wider base. This way, the Structure 20 has become much more stable. And although the effect is difficult to explain in writing, you can imagine that you get a little closer to the ground.
