Saucony Triumph ISO 5 – review and price comparison
Saucony Triumph ISO is an incredibly cool running shoe. The shoe is slightly minimalist in design, so if you are considering jumping on the minimalist running style, you should consider a Saucony Triumph Iso. Saucony represents quality in itself. The brand is gaining more and more ground, and is getting more and more shelf space in Danish sports stores and running stores.
You can use the Saucony Triumph as a mass training running shoe, as a lighter training shoe or even for competition. It’s what I would call a multi-running shoe. It covers so many different aspects. A slightly more expensive running shoe, but an absolute must-have if you ask me.

Saucony Triumph ISO 5 replaces ISO 4
If the already very popular Saucony Triumph ISO running shoe wasn’t going to be successful (it is), then it is now. Or rather, it is going to be even more successful. Saucony has taken not only the Danish market, but the market for running shoes in general by storm in recent years. They have hit a spot where we Danes in particular lacked that type of running shoe. Saucony has experimented a lot with making running shoes with a significantly lower drop than the norm. There is nothing revolutionary about that as such, it is more that they manage to keep both softness and comfort in the shoes..
Saucony Triumph ISO is not the shoe with the lowest drop of all the new ISO models, but it still has “only” a drop of 8mm. Years ago, such a shoe would probably have a drop of around 12mm. But the trend in running shoes is for everything to be a little more “natural”. The challenge with that is that if you want to create more natural running shoes, which are more aimed at forefoot or midfoot running, then comfort is sacrificed. But right here Saucony has hit a nerve. Their shoes are launched with a lower drop, but still have some of the best comfort on the market and especially their EVERUN material ensures maximum softness and comfort.
Now the time has come for the Saucony Triumph ISO 4 to be replaced by the 5th version in the series. The Triumph ISO 4 from Saucony was already ranked at the absolute top when looking at neutral running shoes with maximum comfort and softness. Yes, it could easily compete with, for example, the Asics Nimbus in softness, but then has a significantly lower drop.
The launch of the Saucony Triumph ISO 5 is not the reason why the shoe is not holding its top spot. There have been some really exciting updates to the shoe, and most of them are in the direction of more softness and high comfort.
Saucony Triumph ISO 5 has among other things got the new FORMFIT from Saucony. It is a 3-step rocket consisting of insole, top and midsole, which is now adapted to the shape and movement of the foot much better. It gives a much better fit. But if you know a little about Saucony running shoes, and not least their EVERUN material. Then you will be clapping your hands in a moment when you have read this. In the Triumph ISO 5 model they have managed to add 2mm extra EVERUM material, which means even more comfort and softness. And then you might think, a little like we did, that the shoe has become taller. but no, that is not the case. They have found the 2mm in their outsole of the shoe. So 2mm has disappeared from the wear/outsole, and then 2mm more enjoyment and comfort has come in the midsole (EVERÙN)

Saucony gives you lower drop height
In Denmark or perhaps throughout Scandinavia, it has been the norm for many years that a running shoe should have a drop of 10-12 or maybe even 14 millimeters. Saucony is revolutionizing this to such an extent in recent years. And that is perhaps one of the reasons why they have become so wildly popular. They play with drop heights of 4-6 and millimeters. And now, for example, taking as a starting point the Freedom ISO model which, as you know, only has a drop height of 4mm, it is the perfect place to start if you want to be a forefoot or midfoot runner. What many people probably do wrong when they want to make the switch from being a “heavy” heel lander, to landing more on the midfoot and or forefoot. It is that they make the switch “suddenly” and that can be dangerous. But here Saucony has really been good at making running shoes with a low drop, but at the same time with high and soft comfort. In contrast to other brands that work with harder running shoes as soon as we talk about lower drop, and thus the possibility of forefoot landing.
It’s a bit of a question of attitude, and yet not. There is no doubt that at the time of writing, there is a trend that we need to move more towards natural running, and thus lower drop. That is why Saucony has become so popular, due to their ability to combine this with high comfort. That is for sure. What is not so sure is when you can change drop heights. We would say that if you run in an Asics Nimbus today with a drop height of 10mm, and you might want to try the Saucony Triumph ISO shoe which, as you know, only has a drop of 8mm. Then you can make this change with peace of mind, the body will not react particularly to it. In fact, you can also “slowly” make a change from 12mm to 8mm.
But if you get below 8mm, then you should probably be a little aware of your body. If you run in 10 or 12mm running shoes today, and would like to try the Saucony Freedom ISO shoe at 4mm. Then it is advisable to give your body the opportunity to get used to this change. Because if you get down to 4mm, the body reacts differently.

What’s new in Saucony Triumph ISO 4
One thing you could always be sure of when choosing a Saucony running shoe was high comfort, and above all lots of softness. And that has only gotten better in the Saucony Triump ISO 4, compared to its predecessor the Triump ISO 3..
Everrun is the material that gives this amazing softness in newer Saucony running shoes, and they have chosen to put it in the Triump ISO 4 along the entire length of the foot. This means that you get a softer and more comfortable run. You will also definitely experience that the suspension in the shoe can be felt a little better.
In addition, Saucony has chosen to update the Triumph ISO 4 a little bit in terms of overall comfort. ISOFIT is the material that surrounds your foot, and it is incredibly soft and comfortable, and has now become even more flexible. This gives you an even better opportunity for a unique and customized fit, and when you combine it with the regular soft padding, you as a runner get a really nice running experience in the Saucony Triumph ISO 4.

What was new in the Saucony Triumph ISO 2
You can expect luxury. Saucony Triumph has always been a really cool and delicious running shoe. The ISO 2 model has certainly not become less delicious. It is a top running shoe if you ask me. It contains so much that does so much good for you as a runner. It is a bit on the expensive side, but I actually think you get a lot for your money anyway.
This running shoe is packed with luxury for you. Not only can you use it for both volume training (great durability) or as an interval/tempo shoe (the low weight), you also get a running shoe that just sits fantastically on your foot, and includes the latest features from Saucony. And you can look forward to them. Nothing comes out of their factory that doesn’t work.
– Softness
– Comfort
– Efficiency
You won’t find many other running shoes on the market that are as soft as the Saucony Triumph ISO 2. It has plenty of softness, and in this new version, EVERUN has also been added to the sole along its entire length. It is the new material from Saucony that gives you a more responsive push-off and helps distribute the pressure from the foot better when landing. It really increases your comfort.
High comfort (comfort) It is of course very difficult to explain, but it just has a unique fit, and a really cool feeling when you jump in this shoe. The Isofit technology means that it just sits where it should – and it stays there.
You can train effectively with this shoe. Both on your long distances, but you can also easily take your interval runs in it. It has a relatively low weight.
And since it is one of Saucony’s top running shoes, it of course also includes all their other fantastic features.
