As usual, we have tested lots of running shoes in 2015, and are now ready to give you an overview of our picks for the best running shoes in 2015. They are of course assessed based on many parameters. Below you will find our picks for the best tested running shoes from 2015. You will get 2 options in each running shoe category. There are links to the individual shoes so you can click in and read about them, and of course find the best price for them. You will also find a link to the overview of all shoes in the given running shoe category. As I said, there are a lot of things that come into play when doing the running shoe test 2015. It is lots of small details and input that gives the big overall result. Right below we have listed 2 of the most obvious general parameters that the running shoe test is based on, and further down some more specific points.
General running aspects:
- Customer feedback and ratings of the given running shoes
- Our own individual assessment after testing the running shoe
Features of the running shoe:
- Durability / kilometer per krone
- The fit & comfort of the shoe
- The price of the running shoe
- Material choice
Test winners 2015 – NEUTRAL RUNNING STYLE
The 2 winners in the neutral running style are both 2 running shoes where runners really get something for their money. Especially number 2 we are quite sure will land there because you get so much running shoe for relatively little money. 1st place may be a surprise to some. But you just get a running shoe that contains so many things. Especially the low weight and its great shock absorption are worth highlighting.
Test winners 2015 – OVERPRONATION
The shoes in the overpronation category are evaluated based on many aspects – far more than the ones we mention at the top of the article. There is a classic on the list, and it’s not because it HAS to be there – it’s simply because the Kayano is a superb mass training running shoe.
- Adidas Adistar Boost
- Asics Gel Kayano 21 (Issue number 22 has just been published)
Test winners 2015 – COMPETITION SHOES
Competition running shoes can be a tricky size. What do you look for in a shoe like that? Describing a competition running shoe can mean 10 very different things to 10 runners. But our main focus when choosing winners is on the overall package. The good combination of reasonably low weight, good support and good cushioning.
- Asics Gel Noosa Tri
- Nike LunarTempo (The amazing replacement for the Nike Lunarracer)
Test winners 2015 – TRAIL RUNNING
A good trail running shoe is, in my/our opinion, a shoe that can handle the terrain and that meets the simple requirements we have for trail running. It must be able to withstand wind and weather, and then it must just have the optimal grip on the surface. Trail running is a running style that is gaining more and more popularity. Many of our users say it is because it is more challenging, and many run trail runs without focusing on time – but more focus on the challenge and the cool different run. Both winners stand out in their own way. Salomon PRO is on this winner list because Salomon has supposedly upgraded their Speedcross to a trail shoe that actually solves what it is supposed to, and then this running shoe just frames it so broadly. So many runners can use this trail running shoe.
Running shoe test 2015 – the build
The different test categories look like this.
- Mass training running shoes for neutral running style (more about running style / test your running style)
- Volume training running shoes for overpronation
- Competition running shoes
- Trail running shoes
- Natural running shoes
Our test is not crucial
Just because we test a lot of running shoes doesn’t mean we rate them the same as you. Stepping into a running shoe is individual from runner to runner – pretty much every time. So use our tests and reviews as a guide – read up on the features and what others think about the shoe, and then make your own considerations. It’s your feet and your body – remember to listen to it. Go to all our running shoe reviews.
Summary of the test
There are a lot of good running shoes on the market – and that has also been the case in the year 2015 (which at the time of writing is not yet fully rounded out). There are a lot of ways to evaluate shoes. What parameters should be taken into account when we choose a winner? We at iloebesko.dk have our way, and our point of view on how it should be done. There are others who do it based on other parameters.
But to round off this running test in 2015 – our clear assessment is. A great running year. There are so many great running shoes on the market, and our feeling/finger on the pulse says that the quality of running shoes only goes one way. And that’s it. So enjoy. Your feet will be spoiled in the future.
