Here you can read my review of the running store 21run. It is a store I occasionally shop at, primarily due to their very low prices and periodic extreme offers. The store is German. Germany is a member of the EU, so you have no extra costs when shopping at the store – no extra customs or fees.

The price level

I previously conducted a study that showed that German running stores are 38% cheaper compared to the Danish recommended average price.

21run.com is a very cheap running store. On the latest models, the average savings based on 1225 prices are 37% cheaper compared to the recommended retail prices. It’s worth taking, especially when the average savings in Danish online running stores is only 22%.

37% must be used, but where you can really save money is when 21run.com does monster deals, as they call them. Special sales that are only valid for 24 hours. They are sent out via email and occasionally posted on their Facebook page – you can find them at the bottom of this review.

Please note that if you sign up for their email system you will often receive offers in your inbox, which can be too much. 21run is very focused on having the lowest possible price.

Information level on products

The level of information and descriptions on 21run varies greatly. Some products have no descriptions while others have a little more fluff.

In general, the level of product descriptions is not something worth mentioning as an advantage for the store’s appearance. You get some basic information about the shoes, but it is far from exhaustive.

Additionally, the texts never describe what the different technologies do, meaning you have to visit the retailers’ websites to find out what the effect is.

You can choose German or English descriptions.

Product range

The product selection is huge at 21run.com.

I am extremely impressed with 21run’s product range. They have a lot of brands, and within each brand the selection is huge. I often find that running stores carry too many brands and don’t delve into the different brands. 21run has it all.

I’ve actually been lucky enough to stop by the store itself. The stock is huge. There are many color options and they always have the newest models as soon as they are released.

Delivery time

Delivery is done with German DHL. This works fine for business addresses, but it can cause problems for private addresses – but this is far from always the case. I would recommend ordering to the workplace if you can – DHL works well there.

The delivery time is typically 2-3 business days. However, you may find that your product has been sold out or has not been in stock, and in this case 21run.com does not inform you of the delay. I have been waiting for 2 weeks.

Shipping prices

The shipping prices are excellent. To Denmark you typically pay 7 euros for delivery. In addition, you have to pay 2 euros for insurance of the shipment. That’s fair. They often run free shipping limits or price limits where you can get an extra discount.

Payment options

The payment options are OK. You can pay with Visa and Mastercard. The payment is SSL encrypted. This means that your card information is protected extremely well.

Return options

Since 21run.dk’s packages are sent without repackaging, but only with strips, you will have to invest in a cardboard box yourself when you return the shoes. It can be a hassle.

The advantage of returning at 21run.com is that you can print return labels on their site.

Once you have returned your product, 21run.com will refund your card, but be patient. I have had to push them a few times before anything happened.

Customer support

My personal experience with 21run’s customer support is quite mixed. Their response time seems a bit sporadic. Sometimes they respond within a few hours, while other times I have had to wait 4 days. The support is in English or German.

What others say

21run has on Trustpilot a score of 4.4 out of 10.0 possible. This must be said to be very low compared to other foreign running stores, which typically range between 6.0 and 8.0. It is typically the Danish running stores that score the highest Trustpilot score as the delivery time and service are usually the highest in Danish online stores.

21run has +1000 reviews on the German price comparison service idealo. Here, satisfaction looks quite good. Here, their score is 4.7 out of 5.0 possible.

The reason why the Trustpilot score is bad in Denmark and good on the German site is (in my opinion) because some places do not encourage you to write a review on Trustpilot, but encourage you to write a review on Idealo. Those who write a review on Trustpilot will typically be those who have been particularly dissatisfied, and I think in every way that 21run deserves a higher ranking.

On the German review tool, eKomi, 21run again well. Here their score is 4.7 out of 5.0 possible.
