Calculate speed, distance or time
With this tool, knowing two variables allows you to calculate the third.
If you know your desired speed and how long you want to run, you can calculate how far you will end up running..
The typical example is knowing distance and time, and then calculating speed. There I have made a corresponding tool, which is a little more simple.

How to calculate the different parameters
There are 3 different parameters included in the tool above: speed/pace, distance and time. If you have 2 of the parameters, you can calculate the third.
How to calculate speed from distance and time
It’s quite simple, and if you don’t want to go to this calculator page every time, you can simply use the formula: Speed = Distance in km * 60 / Time in minutes. If you run 10 kilometers in 40 minutes, the calculation will be: 10km*60/40 minutes = 15 km/h. This means that if you run 10 kilometers in 40 minutes, your average speed is 15 km/h.
Calculate distance from speed and time
Again, the method is simple. It is the same formula that is used, this time to calculate the distance covered. The distance covered is calculated as: Distance in km = Speed * Time in minutes / 60. If you run for 15 minutes at a speed of 10 km/h, the distance can be calculated as: 10 km/h * 15 / 60 = 2.5 kilometers. If you run for 15 minutes at a speed of 10 km/h, you will have covered a total of 2.5 kilometers.
Calculate time from speed and distance
You can easily end up not knowing the total time it took you to cover a distance. For example, if a partner has told you the speed you have been running, and you may have used a tool to calculate the distance yourself online, on your mobile or on your GPS running watch. If you have the speed in minutes per kilometer, you must first convert minutes per kilometer to kilometers per hour (link to tool on this page). The time is calculated as follows: time = Distance in km * 60 / speed. An example could be that you have run 15 kilometers at 15 km / h. Then the calculation becomes: 15 * 60 / 15 = 60 minutes. It will therefore take you 60 minutes to cover a distance of 15 km if you run 15 km / h.
Shown examples of calculations of speed, time and distance
We have created some different examples for you so you can see what is happening in the calculator. You can find them below.

The image above shows a calculation of speed. I have entered my distance and my known finishing time – and the calculator now tells me my speed. You will probably get the same calculation on the diploma you receive for completing the race.

The calculator here tells you your finishing time based on a given distance.

This image shows you how far you have run (distance). It can be helpful if you know, for example, your min/kilometer pace and the total time you have spent on your run. Then the calculator will tell you how far you have run approx.
