Adidas Supernova reviews and review of Snova technology
Adidas Supernova is a series of like-minded running shoes with a focus on comfort, support and cushioning. It is Adidas running shoes which are designed and built for longer runs. Therefore, they are made of very durable materials and with a more supportive structure. This applies from the effective shock absorption in the midsole to the padded and supportive upper. Further down in the review and guide you can read much more about Adidas Supernova and what I think is positive and negative about Adidas Supernova.
Advantages and disadvantages
As you will see below, there are both advantages and disadvantages to the Adidas Supernova. This is the case with all running shoes, and I believe, after testing several Adidas Supernova running shoes, that there are significantly more advantages than disadvantages. I would recommend the Adidas Supernova to a friend without hesitation.

Adidas Supernova running shoes
Adidas Supernova Glide
A running shoe for runners with a neutral or supinating running style. With Adidas Supernova Glide you get a lot of running shoes for the money. Supernova Glide is a really good all-round running shoe, which is especially aimed at those of you who want to run longer distances at a calmer pace, where the running shoe’s effective cushioning will come into its own. I find that the shoe is a bit heavy for faster pace, but for long distances on harder surfaces the good cushioning and long durability are perfect.

Adidas Supernova Sequence
This running shoe has been on the market for many years and has been updated in recent versions with Adidas’ new Boost cushioning technology. It is a classic that has gained many fans around the world over the years due to its good shock absorption, stability and comfort. Adidas Supernova Sequence is primarily aimed at those of you who overpronate. Due to the running shoe’s many comfort, shock absorption and stability features, the weight is also quite high, which means that I primarily think the shoe is best for longer distances and a calmer pace. As with all other shoes in the Supernova series, you get a lot of running shoes, and a lot of km, for the money. You can save a lot of money by buying Adidas Supernova online.

Adidas Supernova Riot
A trail running shoe with all the same advantages and disadvantages as the other Adidas Supernova running shoes. What sets it apart Adidas Supernova Riot trail running shoe from its siblings in the series is the coarse sole, which provides a strong and secure grip on the ground. This applies regardless of whether the ground is wet or dry. Adidas Supernova Riot is an obvious choice for longer trail distances with its powerful and effective shock absorption. Its mesh upper ensures high breathability and keeps the foot securely in place with a tight fit. The upper is even padded for increased comfort.

Supernova – What is it?
Adidas Supernova is one of Adidas’ lines of running shoes. It is a collective term for different models of running shoes with the same ambitions or values. The Adidas Supernova series, with its shoes Glide, Sequence and Riot, focuses on comfort, durability and long-distance training. This means for the Supernova running shoes that they all have effective shock absorption for increased comfort and injury minimization on long runs, training as well as competition, on hard surfaces such as asphalt. At the same time, the upper has a tight fit that sits tight without pressing. Although the material is breathable, Adidas has also managed to get the edges padded, so that the comfort gets another boost. This construction and focus on support, comfort and shock absorption mean that the Adidas Supernova can really be recommended for heavier runners who need the extra comfort and support, especially on longer runs, which can otherwise wear on the body. Minimize your risk of injury with Adidas Supernova.
Why you should buy Adidas Supernova
I can definitely recommend running Adidas Supernova. Below you will find the things I would highlight about Supernova, selling points if you will.
- You want a lot of running shoes for the money
- You run many km and long walks on harder surfaces
- Comfort is important to you
- You want to maximize safety and minimize risk of injury
- Du er en tungere løber, som har brug for kraftig støddæmpning
My test of Adidas Supernova
I have tested several of the Adidas Supernova running shoes and overall I have been very satisfied with the running shoes. They have their special place on my running shelf, but of course there are also some things that I am not a huge fan of. First the positives, then a little negative and finally a short summary. As a Jutland, I think first and foremost that it is really cool that with the Adidas Supernova you get a lot of running shoes for the money. If you also run a lot of km, you also know how often shoes need to be changed and how annoying it can be to buy a pair of really expensive running shoes and then they don’t last very long. You don’t want that feeling with the Adidas Supernova.
Besides the price point, the Adidas Supernova are extremely comfortable shoes to wear and run in. Their fit sits well and snugly around the foot and the effective cushioning provides a soft landing with every step, even at distances over the half marathon distance. This also means that heavier runners will be able to really benefit from running in the Adidas Supernova and minimize the chances of picking up a running injury on the way to the goal.

Personally, I prefer more minimalist running shoes and find that Adidas Supernova running shoes are on the heavier end, which also means that I don’t use the shoes for more intensive training sessions and competitions. Only for longer and calmer runs. At the same time, my inclination towards a more natural running style also means that I don’t like the relatively high drop of + 10 mm in Adidas Supernova, as it encourages heel landing. Something I always try to avoid. On the other hand, if you are used to and prefer to run in running shoes with a higher drop and with higher weight, it is not something you will notice, and then I think you will only have a positive experience with Adidas Supernova.
Compared to other running shoes
It’s always fun and exciting to compare running shoes with other running shoes, both from the same brand, in this case Adidas, and from other brands. It gives a broader perspective and allows you to better evaluate both your own running, but also the running shoes you are interested in.
Comparison with other Adidas running shoes
Adidas Adizero
Like Adidas Supernova, Adidas Adizero is also a series or a collective term for a group of running shoes that share the same set of values and try to achieve the same properties in different running shoes for different target groups. Adidas Supernova is characterized by good shock absorption, high comfort and durability. Adidas Adizero, on the other hand, is, as you can read more about inour guide to Adidas Adizero, running shoes with a focus on minimizing weight and maximizing performance. This will of course have an impact on both durability, price and comfort, which are better in the Supernova. On the other hand, the chances of running faster and shaving seconds off your personal best are significantly better with the Adidas Adizero.
Comparison of Supernova and other running shoes
If we look at the Adidas Supernova’s focus on comfort, durability and cushioning, I think it’s right on target to compare it to other running shoes such as the smaller, equally classic Nike Air Pegasus running shoes, which also works really well as a mass training shoe, weighs almost the same. However, the Air Pegasus is probably more aimed at natural runners with a lower drop and less support.

In the same breath, I can mention two of the most popular running shoes among Danish runners, the almost legendary Asics GT andAsics Gel Kayano, both of which have been on the market for a long time and are also aimed at many km on harder surfaces. If you are interested in running from smaller brands, you can take a look at Saucony Triumph running shoe. Another classic from a well-known brand is the hardy and very comfortable New Balance 1260. Like the Adidas Supernova, it is known for its long durability and comfortable fit, even after being beaten up for many miles on hard surfaces.
These are all really good running shoes, but what really sets the Adidas Supernova apart from the others is the price, which is almost only comparable to the Asics GT. The other running shoes are a few hundred kroner more, which makes the Adidas Supernova a good choice if price is a high priority for you.
Summary on Adidas Supernova review
The Adidas Supernova series are classic running shoes, both in terms of design and performance. The different running shoes do not reinvent the wheel, but instead give you everything you are looking for in a good pair of running shoes. Supernova has been around for many years, and it is not without reason that they continue with the series. These are popular running shoes that give you real value, and kilometers, for your money, while also giving you a comfortable running shoe for long runs in nature.

Adidas Supernova provides really good support, whether it is for pronating runners or supinating runners depends on the model, but common is the secure support and effective shock absorption. This is really important for those of you who want to avoid injuries and “just” have a good and enjoyable run. I can definitely recommend Adidas Supernova running shoes to everyone, except you who are an ambitious runner with plans to beat your PR or push your run even further. You should look for another type of running shoe, for examplethe premium running shoes in Adidas Adizero. But for everyone else: Buy Adidas Supernova. They are good and cheap running shoes, especially when purchased online!
