Neutral running style
Do you know your running style? This article reviews what neutral running style is, and briefly touches on the other types of running styles that exist, as suggestions for running shoes.
What is neutral running style?
Having a neutral running style means that you have a very stable structure in your ankle joint. This is because when landing you keep the ankle joint completely straight, and thus do not make a pronation or supination movement. It is not better to have a neutral running style compared to a pronation running style or a supination running style. It is not worse either.
Approximately 18% of all Danes have a neutral running style. This means that a lot of running shoes are made for this type of runner, whereas supination runners cannot afford to be picky to the same extent, as they only make up 2% of Denmark’s population.
